EDITORIAL REVIEW
5 STARS
Corporate Fish And the Green Goo is a children's book that is funny and clever. The central point of the work is an unusually down-scaled A team to fit an easy-going, hilarious narrative, or the characters of a subtle fable. It’s a humorous detail to have the office tank fish form a cosmopolitan microsociety, where each of the fish represents a personality type. However, what makes it even more appealing is the pseudo-seriousness of the tone that the author gives to his heroes when vocalizing their demands and concerns. Jason Mason is responsible for caring for the fish. He is an individual who tends to overthink and overreact, serving as the medium through which Xanthos Likes is gradually constructing the story. The narrative of this little book would not have the same impact on young readers without the contribution of Mary Barrows, the illustrator. Corporate Fish And the Green Goo is both visual and mental. The illustrations bring the words to life, and the reader will giggle at the picture of Cameron, the commando fish. Corporate Fish And the Green Goo is a brilliant work that will appeal to the indicated age group, but at the same time, it is a source of amusement for all those who are still kids at heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 8-year-old couldn't stop laughing!
My 8-year-old laughs easily, but I can't remember her laughing so hard at a book before. She loved the pictures and hung on every word. This is a clever book that, at worst, will amuse you and, at best, will have you laughing out loud. Recommended for anyone who enjoys sea creatures and witty stories!
4.0 out of 5 stars Clever, but a little confusing
The reader of this book experiences the escapades of a host of hyperintelligent fish through the emails of the man hired to watch them. There's wit and fun to these emails (and their attachments), but they sometimes feel disjointed. Still a fun read for five-year-olds and adults.
5.0 out of 5 stars A book in letters
Written in epistle form, a low-rank employee is writing his unresponsive boss about the unruly situation in the company fish tank.
The vocabulary is a bit advanced for the standard picture book audience, but I would recommend the book for ages 7-8.
3.0 out of 5 stars Cute idea, but may be a bit advanced for younger readers
This book is written as a series of emails about fish that get enhanced by a green goo and become intelligent. At first, I was a bit thrown off by the story structure, but after a few pages, it started making sense. I think this would be confusing for young children who don't know about emails. Also, several of the terms are a bit advanced for young readers - example: existential period and electoral process. The ending was also a bit confusing with time restarting. The book is humorous and the illustrations entertaining, but I just don't think it would be for young children.
5.0 out of 5 stars Too Funny
I found the book to be a joy to read. I found it funny and will read it to my grandchildren. The fish were so funny.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cute children's book and in a unique format.
I liked how this story was told and thought it was clever. However, I thought some of the words used were a little advanced for the targeted audience.
1.0 out of 5 stars Meh
I selected this reader since my kids at school love books with/ about fish, but they didn't not care for this one at all. I couldn't finish it; they wanted me to read a different book, so we put this one away. I thought the pictures may be why, they seemed very dated as if maybe, it was art from the 80's perhaps. The author could use feedback from kids before publishing or maybe use a different age group to market to since most of the kids in the class were very disinterested.
5.0 out of 5 stars What was in the green goo?
It was after the green goo dripped into the fish tank that everything went crazy. And then crazier. With voice effects, this book will be funnier so I recommend reading it aloud to children.
5.0 out of 5 stars Corporate Fish adventures
New and interesting approach that I liked a lot. The emails are formal and very detailed.
Walter, Chase, Alex and Cameron the fish are all nice characters and adventurous.
Illustrations are beautiful and very naturalistic.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun!
This is a fun children's picture book.
The illustrations are funny and the idea is great!
