EDITORIAL REVIEW
5 STARS
Overall, Kelley M. Likes' poignant story captures the essence of Theo's journey to own his dream violin. As readers turn the pages, they cannot help but feel a strong empathy for this aspiring musician trying to prove himself worthy through dedication and hard work. The author showcases that saving up money for something desired comes with its perks; creating joyful memories while teaching important lessons in budgeting and financial planning.
"Quest for the Momma Violin". A story. It makes dreams feel real. Kids learn to chase what they love. No stopping them. The main character feels close to us. The messages in the book are all positive. Looks great too! Some say it is too focused. Maybe not for every kid out there? Yet, that focus is a big plus. It keeps kids hooked and teaches lots. "Quest for the Momma Violin" catches their eyes and hearts easily. It is fun but teaches a lot too about goals and never giving up. Parents and teachers will want this on shelves! Sparks talk about aiming high, being creative, and working hard pays off! Theo's story is touching really; He wants Momma Violin badly; and works hard for it; an example of shooting for the stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
This children’s book is a cute story and teaches about music and money in ways that can benefit kids. The original song in the book is also fun to see and to play. As a piano teacher I like seeing a book that promotes practicing instruments to become better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Demonstrates the traits of determination and delayed gratification.
Beautifully illustrated story about a young boy who is determined to achieve his goal. Demonstrates the traits of determination and delayed gratification. Not sure why Theo needed to purchase another snow shovel since the first one didn't get much use the first winter.
4.0 out of 5 stars Motivational and interesting
A delightful book that harmonizes music with money lessons. Theo is a sweet and resourceful boy determined to find a way to purchase an expensive cello. My niece, who is currently learning music and has a burgeoning entrepreneurial spirit, will find this book perfectly inspiring.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Presentation of Important Life Lessons
Quest for the Momma Violin is a lovely story about dreams, goal setting, working, and saving. This is a rare gem, which provides an encouraging template for valuable life skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Encourages the entrepreneurial spirit in young minds! Excellently done!
I absolutely love 'Quest for the Momma Violin!' The beautiful full watercolor illustrations are a real highlight, bringing the story to life in vivid detail on every page. I found myself flipping through, eager to see what happened next as young Theo sets out to earn enough money to buy a cello.
What I found most wonderful about this book is how it encourages the entrepreneurial spirit in young minds. Theo tries out creative ways to save up. It's so inspiring to see a child so determined to achieve their goal through hard work and perseverance. The author does a fantastic job of capturing that drive and passion.
If I could give 'Quest for the Momma Violin' more than 5 stars, I definitely would. It's a heartwarming, uplifting read that I believe kids and parents alike will adore. This is the kind of book that stays with you long after you've read the final page. I can't recommend it highly enough!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Harmonious Blend of Music and Determination: Reflecting on 'Quest for the Momma Violin'
"Quest for the Momma Violin" by Kelley M Likes captivates with its tale of determination and the joy of music, beautifully blending storytelling with rich illustrations. It stands as a vivid celebration of perseverance, entrepreneurship, and musical exploration, enriched by an accompanying musical composition that elevates its narrative charm.
However, I believe that introducing elements like mentorship could have helped deepen the story, offering insights into the guidance crucial for artistic growth. Additionally, expanding on financial literacy by illustrating Theo’s budgeting and saving strategies could have provided valuable lessons for young readers on achieving goals through financial management.
Kelley has crafted an inspiring narrative that resonates with the spirit of achieving dreams through creativity and hard work. Further exploration of these themes could enrich this already compelling story, making it an even more invaluable resource for young minds.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a gem
First, this book delivers as promised based on its description - arts, business and math. But for some strange reason, that's not what makes this book stand out to me. What does stand out is an odd nostalgic feel to it. The art, the story, the way the story is told... it reminds me of my elementary days in the 80's when I would read stories in a big reading book with my reading group and with the teacher. Those were fond memories of curiosity and wonder I found in books and for some reason, this book took me there. Thank you for this book!
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice book for kids!
Definitely a good one to read at bed time!
